The Eiffel Tower from directly below, framed by plane trees

Paris, France

Straight up from underneath, through the plane trees. This is the same evening as the sunset frame — I spent most of that afternoon sitting across the lawn from the tower with a few cold ones, and then walked directly under it on the way out, which is when the scale of the thing actually lands. From this angle it stops being a landmark and goes back to being ironwork. That day is stitched strong into my memories.
